Meet Iryna Viriasova.

A life in music

Iryna is the founder and teacher at Edelweiss Music & Art Studio, bringing a lifelong relationship with piano, voice, and button accordion to her work with students.

Iryna was born into a musical family and began studying piano at age four. She trained in classical and pop vocals from the same early age and began learning the button accordion at eight. Her mother, a professional musician, inspired her lifelong love of music.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education and Arts from Ukraine. World Education Services evaluated the credential and reported it as equivalent to a Canadian master’s degree.

Iryna is a laureate of international button-accordion competitions in Ukraine, Russia, Italy, and Poland. In 2013, she represented Ukraine at the 63rd Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon in Russia.

As a member of the Ukrainian folk group Folknery, she performed accordion and backing vocals on tours across Ukraine, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Italy.

Iryna also lived in Guangzhou, China, for about four years, working as a freelance musician at events, weddings, and other engagements while teaching music to children.

Today, she teaches piano, accordion, and voice to children and adults. Her lessons combine strong technical foundations with creativity, performance experience, and guidance tailored to the individual student.
